Emergency crews in Columbia County were called at around 10:15 p.m. Thursday, April 7, with reports of a fatal crash on Route 9G in Germantown, according to State Police. An investigation found that Raphael McDonald, of Athens in Greene County, was speeding in the northbound lane when he lost control on a curve. The vehicle slid off the road and crashed into a utility pole. McDonald was ejected from the car and died at the scene, police said.
