Jury Rejects Claim Police Caused 23-Year-Old's Death During Chase In Capital Region A police department is off the hook for civil damages in the death of a 23-year-old man who died following a late-night foot chase in the region. Jurors in Saratoga County sided with the City of Saratoga Springs Tuesday, Oct. 17, after a two-week trial in the wrongful death lawsuit brought by the family of Darryl Mount. The young man was left in a coma after falling from scaffolding while running from Saratoga Springs Police officers at around 3 a.m. Aug. 31, 2013.
