Woman Nabbed On Animal Abuse Charges After Dog Dies In Region
A woman was charged with allegedly failing to provide necessary care after her dog died in the region. Dutchess County resident Raysonia M. Owens, age 44, of Hyde Park, was arrested on Monday, Oct. 28, for animal cruelty in connection with the death of a dog on Tuesday, Sept. 3. According to Capt. John Watterson of the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to the Hyde Park Terrace Apartments on Albany Post Road for an animal complaint and found the dead dog that possibly suffered the fatal injuries from a fall. Employee Dies At Age 47
A longtime tech worker in the Hudson Valley died at the age of 47 at his home. Jamie Brian Paterson of Hyde Park, a lifelong Dutchess County resident, lived in of Hyde Park and was born in Poughkeepsie to Daniel M. Paterson and Linda J. (Steele) Paterson. Paterson graduated from FDR High School in Hyde Park in 1994 and then from Dutchess Community College. He was a longtime employee of Southern Westchester BOCES in Rye Brook where he worked in their IT department as a systems engineer, according to his obituary. Health Aide Abused Woman, Dog In Hudson Valley, Police Say
A Hudson Valley woman hired to care for an elderly woman has been charged with neglecting her and a dog after the woman was found wandering in a roadway in a diaper that was duct taped to her. The incident took place in Dutchess County on Tuesday, April 18 around 5:45 p.m. in the area of 116 Roosevelt Road in the town of Hyde Park. Officers Bryan Sweeney and Christian McGaw responded to the area for a welfare check reporting an elderly female in the roadway, said Hyde Park Police Chief Robert Benson.
