The votes are in for New York’s Capital Region District 19 congressional seat, where Democrat Josh Riley is on track to defeat Republican incumbent Marc Molinaro, according to The New York Times. New: Molinaro Says District 19 Race To Close To Call, Waiting For Final Absentee Ballots District 19 includes Broome, Chenango, Columbia, Cortland, Delaware, Greene, Sullivan, Tioga, Tompkins counties and parts of Otsego, Rensselaer, and Ulster counties. DeAnna Cilento, 16, Reported Missing In Prattsville
Police are asking for help in locating a 16-year-old girl from the region who has been missing for several days. Greene County resident DeAnna Cilento was last seen at a home in Prattsville on Sunday, June 30, according to sheriff’s officials. Investigators said Cilento may have traveled to Delaware County or Brooklyn. She is 5-foot-10 and around 180 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. NJ Mom Killed By Falling Tree While Camping With Family In Furious Upstate NY Storm
A New Jersey woman was killed in upstate New York over the weekend when a tree fell on her camper during fierce thunderstorms that ripped through the region, authorities said. At about 10:50 a.m. the Delaware County 911 Center received multiple reports of trees down on campers at multiple locations with an individual trapped at the Russell Brook Campground in the Town of Colchester. Carol E. Luistro was inside of her camper when it was struck by a fallen tree, pinning her underneath it, police said. She was pronounced dead at the scene, Colchester police said. 42-Year-Old NY Woman Believed To Be Traveling Has Been Missing For 2 Weeks
A 42-year-old New York woman has gone missing and authorities are asking the public's help in trying to find her. Gabrielle B. Becker was last seen in her Delaware County hometown of Roxbury (outlined in red in the image above) on Friday, Nov. 24, according to New York State Police. "Her family has been unable to contact her since and is concerned for her safety," said police. "Gabrielle does not have a vehicle and may be utilizing public transportation." As rounds of showers and storms sweep through the region, a Tornado Watch has now been issued for parts of New York. The watch is in effect until 11 p.m. Monday, Aug. 7 in the counties shown in yellow. Sullivan County is leading the entire state - even New York City - in job growth, according to a new report from the state Department of Labor.
