Man Chokes Long Island Woman While Holding Infant Son, Makes Over 1K Threatening Calls: DA An accused rapist and animal abuser from upstate New York is now charged with choking the Long Island mother of his infant son while holding the child. Suffolk County prosecutors slapped Saratoga County resident Preston Wido, age 37, of Clifton Park, with multiple felony and misdemeanor domestic violence charges on Wednesday, April 24. According to investigators, Wido left the victim two voicemails threatening to kill her on Monday, March 11. Son Slices Hudson Valley Mother's Throat Trying To Kill Her, Police Say A man is behind bars after allegedly slicing his mother's throat in an attempt to kill her in the region, police said. The attack took place in Ulster County in Ellenville around 1:40 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 21 on Roslyn Street. According to Capt. Daniel Waage of the Ellenville Police, police responded to the home on a report of a domestic incident. When officers arrived they found a woman suffering from serious knife wounds to the neck, Waage said.  The woman was rendered first aid and transported to Westchester County Medical Center where she is currently being treated, police said…

Violent Break-In: Burglar Chokes Resident Before Fleeing Capital Region Home, Police Say A 40-year-old man is facing charges after allegedly breaking into a home in the region and assaulting a resident. The incident happened at around 1:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 4, in Saratoga County, at a home in Corinth. Troopers determined that Peter Winslow, of Corinth, forced his way inside, causing damage.  He allegedly then got into a physical fight with someone inside the home and choked them before fleeing. Woman Stabbed Multiple Times In Hudson Valley, Suspect Nabbed, Police Say A man from the area is behind bars after allegedly stabbing a woman in the neck several times. The incident took place in Dutchess County on Friday, Jan. 27 on Wolcott Avenue in Beacon. The woman was found after Beacon Police received a call from her telling officers she had been stabbed inside her home, said Det. Sgt. Jason Johnson of the Beacon Police.
