39-Year-Old Columbia County Man Accused Of Forcing Way Into Home A Capitol Region man is behind bars after allegedly forcing his way into the home of a person he had a prior relationship with. Columbia County resident David A. Grant Jr., age 39, of Craryville, was charged on Sunday, Oct. 13. According to Trooper AJ Hicks of the New York State Police, an investigation determined Grant forced entry into the residence of the victim through a bathroom window and struck the victim. ‘Shameful, Cowardly’: Cancer-Stricken Dog Abandoned Along Capital Region Highway Police in the region are asking for help in solving a heartbreaking case of animal abuse involving a sick dog. Columbia County Sheriff’s officials said the Cane Corso, now named Barney, was found abandoned on the side of Route 23 in the hamlet of Craryville on Thursday, Jan. 25. A passerby spotted the animal and assumed it had been struck by a car because it couldn’t put any weight on one of its front legs.
