A suspected hit-and-run driver was apprehended following a Capital Region crash that killed a pedestrian.
Heath Mabeus, 37, was arrested by Colonie Police at his Clifton Park residence on Saturday, March 15, in connection with a hit-and-run crash that killed a woman in Colonie the day before.
Mabeus struck 58-year-old Migdalia Aulet as she crossed Wolf Road near Beltrone Drive at around 6:30 a.m. Friday, March 14, Colonie Police said. He allegedly then fled the scene without stopping or offering the woman aid.

A recent community gun buyback event netted 235 firearms in one city in the region.
The annual Ulster County program -- held Saturday, April 29 in Kingston -- sponsored by New York Attorney General Letitia James, the Kingston Police Department, and the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office is the largest gun buyback hosted in the region, the AG's Office said.
