Shots Fired During Fight At Hudson Valley School, Former Student Charged: Police Police responded to an Orange County school after receiving multiple reports of shots fired during a large fight near the entrance of the building. The incident occurred on Tuesday, Jan. 14, at the Newburgh Free Academy Main Campus during school dismissal. According to Mike Neppl, spokesman for the Newburgh Police, the shooting began as a fight involving several students and a former student, later identified as Kevin Gaspar, age 18, of the town of Newburgh.  The altercation spilled into the Fullerton Avenue road, where the students left the fight. Man Stabbed To Death In Region, Suspect On Run Police in the Hudson Valley are searching for a suspect after a man was stabbed and killed on a city street. The incident occurred in Orange County at 10:45 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 13, at 120 Parmenter St., in the city of Newburgh. According to Mike Neppl, chief of staff for the city, officers responding to a shot spotter notification found the man with injuries consistent with a stabbing.
