High School In Region Dismissed After Bomb Threat: Police Students and staff have been sent home for the day to allow police to investigate a bomb threat at a Hudson Valley high school. The Town of Poughkeepsie Police said Spackenkill High School in Poughkeepsie received the threat late Monday, Dec. 9d. The department said several other school districts in the region also received the threat. The threat is believed to be a hoax. Out of an abundance of caution, the Spackenkill School District has dismissed the high school students and staff to allow for a complete investigation. The incident occurred in Dutchess County on Sunday, Nov. 17. Dr. Dwight Bonk, superintendent of schools for the Wappinger Central School District, said the threat was made against Orchard View Alternative High School in Wappingers Falls. Bomb Threat To DEC Office In Region Under Investigation State Police are investigating after a bomb threat was emailed to a government office. in the region. The incident occurred in Ulster County on Monday, Nov. 4, at the State Department of Environmental Conservation, targeting the DEC Region 3 office in New Paltz. According to Trooper Steven Nevel, troopers searched the building and did not find any explosive devices.  The investigation into the threat is ongoing.
