The single-engine Piper PA-46 went down in Catskill Park around 2 p.m. Sunday, June 30, in the small Delaware County village of Sidney. ‘He Was Just Wonderful’: Tributes Pour In Following Death Of Longtime Capital Region Teacher Loved ones and former students are mourning the loss of a longtime teacher in the region. Albany County resident Walter Lipka, of Cohoes, died Tuesday, Jan. 30 at the age of 86 at Health Alliance Hospital in Kingston. His death followed a two-month battle with sepsis, according to his obituary. A native of Cohoes, Lipka served in the US Army as a military police officer in the early 1960s. He later received his bachelor’s degree in art education from Suny New Paltz and a master’s degree in Studio Art from UAlbany. Ex-Yankees Star Mariano Rivera Sells Westchester Home At $2M Loss, Report Says Retired Yankees pitcher and Hall of Famer Mariano Rivera has sold his longtime home in Westchester County. Rivera and his wife, Clara, unloaded the 13,000 square-foot, nine-bedroom mansion, located in Rye, for $3.783 million, as was first reported by The Wall Street Journal. The home hit the market in 2020 for $3.995 million and the buyer spent the past year renting the home for nearly $19,000 a month, according to the outlet.
