26-Year-Old Fires Multiple Shots Into House In Affluent Long Island Neighborhood, DA Says A 26-year-old man is accused of firing multiple shots into an occupied home located in an affluent Long Island neighborhood. Lawrence Brown Jr., of Riverhead, was formally charged with criminal possession of a weapon and related charges in Suffolk County Court on Monday, Sept. 9. According to prosecutors, Brown drove from Riverhead to Hampton Bays shortly before midnight on Saturday, July 7. Drunk Driver Nabbed After Hit-Run Crash Involving Woman On Long Island, Police Say A man allegedly driving drunk was apprehended after police say he fled the scene of a crash involving a female pedestrian on Long Island.The crash happened around 7:20 p.m. Sunday Sept. 1, in Flanders. Upon arrival by Southampton Town Police Department officers, it was reported that the had struck the woman on Oak Avenue and left the scene of the crash. The alleged incident happened shortly after 1:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 24, in Hampton Bays. That's when police say a staff member at Beach Bar nightclub requested that a Southampton Town PD officer assist with a male patron who had reportedly offered “drugs” to a bartender.  The ensuing investigation revealed that the suspect offered a quantity of meth to the bartender, which the defendant was still in possession of, according to Southampton Town Police Sgt. Fatal Crash: 35-Year-Old ID'd As Victim In Hampton Bays A 35-year-old has been identified as the victim of a fatal single-vehicle Long Island crash. It happened just before 6 p.m.  Tuesday, July 16, in Hampton Bays on North Road. The victim, who was pronounced dead at the scene, was operating a motorcycle and has been identified as Darwin E. Monsalve, a Hampton Bays resident.  The cause of the crash is under investigation.  North Road was shut down for approximately two hours to conduct the investigation. Duo Nabbed In Broad Daylight Robbery At Long Island Park, Police Say Two men are behind bars after allegedly robbing a man in broad daylight in a Long Island park. The incident happened at around 12:20 p.m. Wednesday, June 12, in Riverside, at the Riverside Maritime Trail Park near Flanders Road and Vail Avenue. Southampton Town Police said a Riverside resident was walking in the park when two men approached, grabbed him from behind, and pulled him to the ground.
