2 Store Clerks Accused Of Selling Alcohol To Minors During Long Island Compliance Check Two Long Island businesses were cited for allegedly selling alcohol to minors. Compliance checks were conducted at 19 retail vendors throughout the Town of Riverhead on Tuesday, Aug. 20. The operation targeted the sale of alcohol products to patrons under the age of 21. The following vendors were found not to comply: Mobil, 3705 Middle Country Road, Calverton Shell, 626 W. Fatal Overnight Crash: 37-Year-Old Woman ID'd As Victim On Long Island A woman was killed after being struck by an SUV on a Long Island roadway overnight. The incident happened just before 9 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 22, in Riverhead, on eastbound Old Country Road, near the Gulf Gas Station and the Residence Inn Hotel. Upon arrival of the Riverhead Police Department Patrol Division, it was determined that a 2009 Nissan Rogue, operated by a 46-year-old woman, struck two pedestrians.  One of the pedestrians was a woman identified as Denise Wack, 37 years old. Hit-Run Crash: Greenport Man Drove Drunk With 3 Kids In Car In Riverhead, Police Say A man has been accused of driving drunk with three children in the car after a hit-and-run crash on Long Island. The incident happened around 8:10 p.m. in Riverhead. Greenport resident Juan L. Arevalo-Lopez, age 22, crashed a white Honda Civic on Old Country Road before fleeing the scene, according to  Riverhead Police Department. Responding officers found Arevalo-Lopez to be intoxicated while his 1-year-old daughter, and two boys -- ages 9 and 10 -- were inside the vehicle, said police.
