20-Year-Old Seriously Injured In Crash On Long Island A 20-year-old was seriously injured in a single-vehicle Long Island crash. It happened around 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 31 in Copiague. The victim, a man who resides in Copiague, was riding a gas-powered scooter eastbound on Oak Street, near the Long Island Railroad Station, when he lost control and struck a cement pillar, according to Suffolk County Police. He was taken by ambulance to Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip for treatment of serious physical injuries. It happened on Saturday, July 13 in Islip, according to the Islip Fire Department. 2-Year-Old Pulled Unresponsive From Swimming Pool At Deer Park Home A toddler was found unresponsive in a swimming pool at a Long Island home. The incident happened around 7:15 p.m. Sunday, July 7, in Deer Park. The child, a 2-year-old boy, was pulled from the pool, and first responders began CPR upon arriving on the scene. The boy was transported by ambulance to Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip and later moved to Stony Brook University Hospital in stable condition. 7-Year-Old Drowns At Home In East Meadow On July 4th A young boy has died after drowning at a Long Island home on Independence Day. Officers responded to a residence in East Meadow on 2nd Avenue just before 4 p.m. Thursday, July 4, after a report of a 7-year-old boy who was not breathing from an apparent drowning accident in a swimming pool, Nassau County Police said.  When officers arrived, the boy was already removed from the pool, and CPR was being administered.  The boy was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead by a physician. The incident happened around 8 p.m. Friday, May 17 just north of Buffalo, in the Niagara County city of North Tonawanda.
