Officers from the Eighth Precinct responded to Gregg Court at 12:19 a.m. on Saturday, March 15, after a 2019 Hyundai Elantra slammed into a house, police said. The driver, identified as Daniel Delia, 33, of Cedar Lane, was taken into custody at the scene without further incident.
Delia sustained minor injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for evaluation. No one inside the home was injured, but a Town of Hempstead building inspector deemed the residence uninhabitable due to the damage.
Delia is charged with driving while intoxicated and criminal mischief in the second degree. He is scheduled for arraignment later Saturday at First District Court in Hempstead, authorities said.
