Serious Crash Shuts All Lanes Of Long Island Expressway A crash investigation has forced the closure of all westbound lanes on the Long Island Expressway/I-495 in Brentwood Sunday night, Jan. 5, 511NY reports. The impacted stretch is between Exit 55 (Motor Parkway; CR 67) and Exit 53 (Sagtikos State Parkway; Wicks Road; CR 7). As of 11:20 p.m., all lanes were closed with multiple emergency response vehicles at the scene. Daily Voice has reached out to NYSP for details. This is a developing story. New Update: ID Released For 42-Year-Old Struck, Killed By SUV In Brentwood The identity has been released for a man struck and killed on a Long Island roadway. The crash happened just before 9 p.m. Friday, May 31, in Brentwood. Suffolk County Police said the man was crossing Wicks Road, just south of Merrill Street when he was struck by a southbound 2016 Honda CRV driven by a 58-year-old Bay Shore man. The man was transported to South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore, where he was pronounced dead. He's now been identified as Alvaro Amaya, age 42, of Brentwood.
