Arrests Made In Nassau County Dad's Roadside Robbery-Killing: Police
Police have charged two men in the killing of a 32-year-old Amityville man found dead on a Wantagh roadway in September, according to Nassau County authorities.
Police say Anderson Ramirez, 34, of Central Islip, and Alex R. DeLarosa, 27, of Bay Shore, were arrested on Dec. 4 in connection to the fatal shooting of Yinauri A. Taveras, 32. The victim, originally from Amityville, had been splitting time between Puerto Rico and Westbury.

A Long Island man out on parole shot and killed a man who had been sleeping in a car, a jury found.
Kadeem Lewis, age 31, of Hempstead, was found guilty of second-degree murder and related charges in Nassau County Court on Thursday, Oct. 31, in the killing of Jose Sanchez-Velasquez.
According to investigators, Lewis and a co-defendant, Richard Ford, were walking around Hempstead looking for a house to burglarize when they spotted Velasquez sleeping in the front seat of his car at around 2:20 a.m. on Nov. 25, 2019.

Suspect Nabbed After Robbing Speedway In Oceanside
A suspect who said he was armed was apprehended shortly after allegedly fleeing the scene of a robbery at a Long Island business.
The suspect entered the Speedway gas station in Oceanside located at 2650 Long Beach Road at around 4:10 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 10.

A Long Island man is facing decades in prison after admitting to fatally shooting two people inside a home.
Brian Cordovano, age 50, of Ronkonkoma and formerly of Bay Shore, was arrested following a traffic stop in Smithtown, on Columbus Avenue, just before noontime on Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2023.
