Duo Accused In Attempted Bombing At Nassau County Government Building An attempted bombing at a Long Island government building has landed two men behind bars. The incident happened in Uniondale, at the Nassau County Department of Social Services building on Charles Lindbergh Boulevard, at around 2 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17. Nassau County Police said a man placed propane tanks near the building and then threw lit flares toward them before running away. On Thursday, Oct. 3, detectives arrested 46-year-old James Luca and 25-year-old Jayson Reyes, both of North Merrick, in connection with the incident. Long Island Man Charged After Throwing Explosive Device On Woman's Car A Long Island man was charged with arson after allegedly throwing an explosive device on a woman's car, causing heaving damage. The incident occurred around 5:30 a.m., Sunday, Feb. 5, 2023, in North Merrick. According to the Nassau County Arson/Bomb Squad, James Luca, age 46, of North Merrick,  ignited an explosive device and threw it onto the hood of a female victim’s car, located in the driveway of her Sherman Avenue home.  He then fled the area while the device exploded, causing damage to the hood of the vehicle and the front windshield, police said. …
