The rescue happened in Putnam County at around 2:40 p.m. on Sunday, July 7, when a forest ranger with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation saw a person in the water while patrolling White Pond in the town of Kent.  According to the DEC, the person had rolled their canoe and could not flip it back over. New Update: Missing Swimmer's Body Pulled From Hudson River In Westchester This story has been updated.  The body of a swimmer who went missing after taking a dip in the Hudson River in Westchester was recovered following an intense recovery effort.  The person's disappearance happened on Monday, July 8 around 6 p.m., when a swimmer was reported to be in distress in the Hudson River by the area of Dobbs Ferry's Waterfront Park, according to the Dobbs Ferry Fire Department.  Arriving crews spoke to witnesses, who said they saw a swimmer go under the water around 30 feet from the shoreline who did not resurface.  More personnel were then called…

Lost Hikers In Region Rescued By DEC Forest Ranger Forest Rangers rescued five hikers lost and suffering from heat exhaustion and lack of water on a trailhead at a state forest in the region. The incident occurred in Sullivan County at Roosa Gap State Forest in the town of Mamakating around 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 22. Man Rescued After Falling From Overturned, Disabled Jet Ski Into Hudson River In Westchester With plenty of great weather on the horizon, authorities in Westchester are reminding residents to be careful while out on the water after rescuing a man from the Hudson River who fell from a disabled jet ski.  The department announced on Friday, May 31, that the rescue happened over Memorial Day weekend in Yonkers.
