Dutchess County native Dorinda R. 'Rindy' Germano, of Poughkeepsie, died peacefully on Saturday, Oct. 12, at the Catskill Regional Medical Center in Monticello. Born in Poughkeepsie, Rindy lived her 68 years with a "contagious zest for life and a heart brimming with kindness," according to her obituary. First In NY: 'Sensory Inclusive' Tools Now Standard Equipment For This Police Department A police department on Long Island is the first in New York to become certified sensory inclusive. The Village of Rockville Centre Police Department was certified by KultureCity, a nonprofit organization that typically trains venue staff to accommodate people with sensory needs, like those with autism. Suspect On Loose After Shots-Fired Incident Injures 3 In Hudson Valley Authorities are looking for whoever fired shots that injured three people in the Hudson Valley, including one person who is now in critical condition.  The incident happened in Orange County on Tuesday, July 16 just before 7 p.m., when several gunshots were fired at 31 City Terrace in the city of Newburgh, the city's police department announced on Thursday, July 18.
