Dramatic Video Shows Officers Rescuing Residents From Burning Northern Westchester Home Several residents were saved from the rear of a burning Northern Westchester residence after officers braved flames and a downed live wire to rescue them. The blaze happened in Ossining on Tuesday night, Aug. 6, when a residence on Maurice Avenue went up in flames, according to Ossining Police.  Arriving officers discovered that several residents were trapped in the rear of the building. Rockland County Launches Free TOR Ferry Weekend Connection Bus Weekend travelers will now have the opportunity to take a TOR ferry connection bus beginning this weekend to explore different parts of the Hudson Valley and New York City, free of charge. Rockland County Executive Ed Day and the Department of Public Transportation said that the service will begin on Saturday, July 6, and run through Nov. 10.
