Couple Leaves Infant On Beach While Boating At Lake George, Police Say Two parents are accused of leaving their infant child alone while they went boating on a popular beach in New York frequented by residents throughout the state and elsewhere. The incident happened Tuesday afternoon, June 18, on the western shore of Lake George, near Lake Shore Drive. New York State Police said someone called 911 after hearing the infant crying and finding the child unattended roughly five feet from the shoreline. The child was not injured. Man Accused Of Beating Victim To Death In Hudson Valley A resident in the region faces 25 years in state prison after being found guilty by a jury for beating another man to death. Ulster County resident Joseph Karolys, age 39, of Saugerties, was convicted on Friday, June 14, of manslaughter, assault, and tampering with physical evidence following a two-week jury trial for the death of David "Mickey" Myer, age 66, also of Saugerties, on Saturday, Oct. 29, 2022.
