A former New York City police officer from the Hudson Valley has pleaded guilty to criminally negligent homicide after driving drunk at over 100 mph and causing the crash that killed her husband in Rockland County, authorities announced. Bernadine Thomas, age 36, of Maybrook in Orange County, entered the guilty plea on Monday, Feb. 3 before Rockland County Court Judge Kevin Russo, according to New York Attorney General Letitia James. Toddler Dies In Hot Car, Woman Charged With Homicide In Hudson Valley
A Hudson Valley woman is facing homicide charges after a toddler died in a hot car. Sarah Carter, 34, of Monticello, was indicted for criminally negligent homicide by a Sullivan County jury on Friday, Jan. 24. Emergency crews were called to the Sleepy Hollow Apartment Complex in July 2024 for a child left in a vehicle. Officers located 2-year-old Antonio Suarez in a Ford Explorer suffering from cardiac arrest, according to New York State Police.
