Teen Duo Nabbed After Police Pursuit In Hudson Valley Two teens wanted for a variety of alleged traffic and vehicle violations fled from police before being nabbed in the Hudson Valley following a parking lot crash.  The incident began in Ulster County in the town of Lloyd at 1:15 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 26, when two teens in a 2022 Hyundai Elantra traveling northbound on Route 9W fled from police in an attempted traffic stop and ended in Dutchess County in Poughkeepsie, According to Trooper Steven Nevel, troopers pursued the vehicle toward the city of Poughkeepsie and terminated the pursuit before entering the city. Dutchess County native Dorinda R. 'Rindy' Germano, of Poughkeepsie, died peacefully on Saturday, Oct. 12, at the Catskill Regional Medical Center in Monticello. Born in Poughkeepsie, Rindy lived her 68 years with a "contagious zest for life and a heart brimming with kindness," according to her obituary. Orange County resident Kirkland Salmon, age 42, of Newburgh, pleaded guilty in Orange County Court to criminal possession of a controlled substance, sale of a firearm, and conspiracy on Tuesday, Oct. 1. Under the plea agreement, the Orange County District Attorney's Office will recommend that he be sentenced to 12 years in prison, followed by five years of post-release supervision when he is sentenced in December. Woman Admits Setting Fire To Hudson Valley Home With Daughter, Grandchildren Inside, DA Says A woman has pleaded guilty to attempted arson in connection with intentionally setting fire to a Hudson Valley home with her and her grandchildren inside. Niagara County resident Itita Washington-Thompson, age 48, of Niagara, made the plea on Monday, Sept. 16, said Dutchess County District Attorney Anthony Parisi. Parisi said: "This case is a chilling example of how a domestic incident or dispute can escalate to dangerous extremes."  The incident occurred on Friday, May 24, at Hammersley Avenue in Poughkeepsie.
