Man Found Dead In Car On Shoulder Of Long Island Expressway In Hauppauge An investigation is underway after a man was found dead in broad daylight on the Long Island Expressway. Suffolk County Police Highway Patrol officers responded to a parked vehicle in Hauppauge on the eastbound shoulder near Route 111 on Wednesday, Oct. 16, at about 1:15 p.m.  Officers discovered a body in the front seat of a 2019 Jeep.  Following an investigation by Fourth Squad detectives, the body was identified as Luis Gonzalez, age 62. 38-Year-Old Charged After Fatal Overnight Brentwood Crash A man has been charged after a fatal overnight crash on Long Island. It happened around 11 p.m. Wednesday, May 22. The man was driving a 2017 Kia Forte in Brentwood eastbound on Suffolk Avenue when the vehicle struck the victim in the roadway in front of 500 Suffolk Ave. at approximately 11 p.m. The man who was struck, who has not yet been identified by police, was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner.
