A 29-year-old man formally confessed to causing an impaired, high-speed crash on the Southern State Parkway that claimed three lives. Matthew Whyte, of Laurelton, Queens, pleaded guilty to aggravated vehicular homicide and related charges in Nassau County Court on Thursday, Feb. 20, in the deaths of Florence Oprisan, Ciara Hare, and Jean Marc Miller. A half dozen members of the notorious MS-13 gang were slapped with federal charges in the murder of a 21-year-old man who was found dead at a Long Island park.
