The issues began around 6 a.m. Eastern time on Monday, March 10 when approximately 20,538 users reported problems, according to DownDetector, a site that tracks outages,

The outages subsided briefly before resurging, with nearly 40,000 users reporting issues by 10 a.m. Since then, around 26,000 additional reports have been logged as of 12:30 p.m. ET.

Many users said that the app would not load properly and posts were not visible.

Musk took to X to share his thoughts, stating he believes “a large, coordinated group and/or a country is involved” in the disruptions. However, the specific motivations behind the alleged cyberattack remain unconfirmed.

In response to a post suggesting that efforts are being made to silence Musk and his platform, he replied with a simple “Yes.”

Despite these assertions, no further details about the nature of the service disruption or whether it was indeed a targeted attack have been disclosed.
