Investigation Underway After Elderly Woman Found Dead Near Vanderbilt Mansion In Region Police have identified the body found by a hiker near the Vanderbilt Mansion last month. Helen Pardini, 69, of Poughkeepsie, was found dead at the historic site in Hyde Park around noon on Friday, Dec. 6, New York State Police said. New York State Police Trooper AJ Hicks previously said the body was found lying face down near the east shore of the Hudson River south of Bard Rock. Police at the time said the death was considered suspicious, however, the circumstances around the incident have not been released. Investigation Underway After Elderly Woman Found Dead Near Vanderbilt Mansion In Region Police are asking the public for help identifying an elderly woman who was found dead by a hiker near the Vanderbilt Mansion historical site in the Hudson Valley. The grim discovery of the woman whose death is considered suspicious was found around 12 p.m. by the hiker on Friday, Dec. 6, on Vanderbilt Park Road in Hyde Park. New York State Police Trooper AJ Hicks said the woman was lying face down near the east shore of the Hudson River south of Bard Rock.
