Duo On Loose After Stealing Truck, Ramming Cruiser In Capital Region: Police The New York State Police are searching for two men on foot in the region who allegedly stole a truck and rammed a trooper's cruiser. The accident occurred on the Columbia and Rensselaer county lines near Route 20 and Route 66 in the hamlet of Brainard in the Village of East Nassau. According to State Police, the two men allegedly stole the truck and then rammed a troop car while a trooper was getting into the vehicle.  The second suspect, not pictured in the photo above, is described as a white man in dark clothing. NY State Police Trooper Hospitalized After Cruiser Is Struck A New York State Police trooper was hospitalized after his cruiser was struck by a vehicle. The Long Island incident happened shortly after 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 9, on the Southern State Parkway in the town of Hempstead. The trooper had just completed a traffic stop westbound on the Exit 22N ramp and was getting into the patrol vehicle when it was hit by the passing motorist. Bomb Threat To DEC Office In Region Under Investigation State Police are investigating after a bomb threat was emailed to a government office. in the region. The incident occurred in Ulster County on Monday, Nov. 4, at the State Department of Environmental Conservation, targeting the DEC Region 3 office in New Paltz. According to Trooper Steven Nevel, troopers searched the building and did not find any explosive devices.  The investigation into the threat is ongoing. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Troop F Headquarters at 845-344-5300.
