Red Light Camera Programs To Be Extended In This Capital Region Locale
To protect motorists on New York roads, Gov. Kathy Hochul has announced the creation of a new red light camera program in the Hudson Valley and the expansion of other initiatives across the state. In an announcement on Wednesday, Oct. 23, Hochul revealed that she signed legislation to extend several existing red light camera programs in Westchester, Albany, and Nassau counties. Former Iona University Basketball Player Chosen To Star On New Season Of 'The Bachelor'
ABC's "The Bachelor" franchise has announced its next star. His name is Grant Ellis, and he's a 30-year-old day trader with New Jersey and New York roots. The Houston, Texas resident initially competed on this season of "The Bachelorette" starring Jenn Tran, who grew up in Bergen County. Ellis was eliminated just before Tran picked her final four. A pair of first-time Congressional candidates scored decisive wins in much-watched Democratic primaries in downstate New York. Westchester County Executive George Latimer easily defeated two-time incumbent Jamaal Bowman in the District 16 race, 58 percent to 41 percent, with 84 percent of the vote in, according to the New York State Board of Elections. The closely-watched Democratic race between Westchester County Executive George Latimer and incumbent Rep. Jamaal Bowman for New York's 16th District seat is about to come to a close as the most expensive congressional primary in history, according to reports.
