Vehicle Catches On Fire On New Tappan Zee Bridge, Impacts Traffic A vehicle fire impacted traffic on the new Tappan Zee Bridge off the shore of Westchester County.  The blaze happened on Thursday, Aug. 22 just before 11 a.m., when a truck caught on fire in the northbound lanes of I-87 on the bridge near the Tarrytown shore, according to the New York State Thruway Authority.  The incident temporarily caused the left lane to be completely blocked. Boy Killed After Being Struck By Truck In Hudson Valley A 14-year-old boy was hit and killed by a truck after he allegedly rode in front of it. The incident occurred in Dutchess County at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 8, on Vassar Road in the town of Poughkeepsie. According to Town of Poughkeepsie Police Capt. Ralph Cropley, at the time of the crash, a 2014 Dodge Ram pickup truck was being driven by a 60-year-old resident of the town of Poughkeepsie in a southerly direction on Vassar Road. Crash Slows Traffic On Busy Hudson Valley Roadway A collision involving a truck impacted traffic on a busy route in the Hudson Valley. The crash happened in Putnam County on Wednesday, July 17, when vehicles collided on Route 9 near the entrance of The Bird & Bottle Inn, according to the Garrison Volunteer Fire Company. Arriving first responders found the drivers out of their vehicles and stayed at the scene to control traffic and clean debris. The vehicles involved in the crash, including a truck, were later towed away.

Hudson Valley Man Killed In Crash Between Truck, Car A Hudson Valley man was killed in a two-vehicle crash. The incident occurred in Dutchess County around 8 a.m., Thursday, June 13, on Route 52 at the intersection of Leetown Road in the town of East Fishkill. According to Chief Derrick Cuccia of the East Fishkill Police, a preliminary investigation revealed that a 2006 Mack truck (Tri-County Carting garbage truck) driven by a 55-year-old Brewster man was traveling eastbound on Route 52 when it struck a 2018 Subaru that was exiting Leetown Road.  The driver of the Subaru, Thomas J.
