A Long Island man who confessed to stabbing his son-in-law to death will spend decades in prison. Eduardo Vega, age 58, of Islip Terrace, was sentenced to 25 years behind bars in Suffolk County Court on Thursday, Oct. 17, in the death of 34-year-old Roshane McLaren. Fatal House Fire: 62-Year-Old ID'd As Victim In Nesconset
A Long Island resident was killed in a house fire. The blaze broke out around 5:25 p.m. Monday, Oct. 14, in Nesconset. First responders rushed to the scene at Highland Place after a 911 call. Thomas Walz, age 62, a resident of the home, was taken out of the house by responders. Walz was transported via ambulance to Stony Brook University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
