A Long Island man is facing decades in prison after admitting to fatally shooting two people inside a home. Brian Cordovano, age 50, of Ronkonkoma and formerly of Bay Shore, was arrested following a traffic stop in Smithtown, on Columbus Avenue, just before noontime on Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2023. A Hudson Valley man has been accused of driving recklessly on Long Island. Suffolk County Police say they observed a purple 2023 Dodge Charger doing donuts in the hamlet of Shirley at around 1:40 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 6 at the intersection of Montauk Highway and William Floyd Parkway. A man has been accused of driving drunk after an overnight Long Island crash hospitalized his young daughter. It happened around 9:15 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4 in Rocky Point. The 77-year-old received an alert on her computer indicating that her bank account had been compromised and instructing her to call the number listed on the screen. Police are investigating a fatal two-vehicle crash at a busy Long Island intersection overnight. It happened just before 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2, in Coram. Seen Her? 16-Year-Old Long Island Girl Missing Nearly 2 Weeks
Police are asking for help in locating a 16-year-old Long Island girl who has been missing for nearly two weeks. Amanda Tucker, of Dix Hills, was last seen on Friday, Sept. 20, according to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. She was previously reported missing in April, Suffolk County Police said. Tucker is 5-foot-4 and 252 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. A Long Island man whose abuse and stalking of his former girlfriend culminated in a knifepoint kidnapping will spend decades behind bars. Holmark Garces, age 35, of Bay Shore, was sentenced to 27 to 30 years in prison in Suffolk County Court on Monday, Sept. 30.
