An MS-13 gangster sexually assaulted a woman at gunpoint, culminating a three-month-long pattern of abuse on Long Island, a jury found Wednesday, May 6.
Jayden Abadi Alvarado Velasquez, 40, was convicted of predatory sexual assault, two counts of assault, five counts of weapons possession, and aggravated harassment, the Nassau County District Attorney’s office announced Friday, May 8.
“This defendant trapped the victim in a cycle of violence and believed his affiliation with MS-13 made him untouchable,” District Attorney Anne Donnelly said.

A routine traffic stop on Old Country Road in Westbury led to two arrests after officers found suspected crack/cocaine and a loaded revolver inside a vehicle, police announced.
Natasha Celestin, 43, of Brooklyn, was arrested after Strategic Response Team officers stopped a 2011 Kia Sorento traveling eastbound with an inoperable taillight in Westbury on Friday, Jan. 16 at 9:11 p.m., according to detectives.
Celestin was found in possession of a white powdery substance believed to be crack/cocaine after an investigation, police said.

A late-night crash on the Long Island Expressway led to a gun and suspected drugs being recovered from a vehicle in Syosset, Nassau County police announced Sunday, Dec. 21.
Kevin Byong Koon Yim, 45, of Syosset, was arrested after officers responded to an auto accident along the South Service Road near Exit 43 around 12:30 a.m., according to detectives.

A night of celebration turned into tragedy overnight when gunfire erupted inside a crowded New York City restaurant, leaving 11 people shot, with three of those dead.
The shooting broke out just before 3:30 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 17, in Brooklyn, at Taste of the City Lounge on Franklin Avenue in Crown Heights, according to authorities.
