Fatal Chain-Reaction Crash: 23-Year-Old From Selden ID'd As Victim In Mount Sinai
A 23-year-old was killed in a chain-reaction, wrong-way crash at a Long Island intersection. It happened just after 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 8, in Mount Sinai. The victim was driving a black 2012 Kawasaki motorcycle in the wrong direction on southbound Patchogue-Mount Sinai Road, when he collided with a 2022 Honda CR-V at the intersection of Canal Road. According to Suffolk County Police, the motorcyclist then collided with a 2018 Dodge Ram stopped in the westbound turning lane on southbound Patchogue-Mount Sinai Road. 18-Year-Old Nabbed For Selling Nicotine To Minor On Long Island: Police
A young Long Island woman was arrested after police said she sold a child nicotine products, police said. The Mount Sinai incident happened on Sunday, July 14, according to Suffolk County Police. At approximately 12:15 p.m., Alexzia Diaz Garcia was working at MT Smoke and Vape, located at 5507-3 Nesconset Highway when she allegedly sold an underage person Zyn nicotine pouches. She was arrested and charged with second-degree unlawfully dealing with a child. Garcia, age 18 of Coram, will be arraigned at a later date, authorities said.

Man Loses Finger, 3 Others Injured In July 4th Fireworks Mishap At Long Island Home
A man lost a finger in a Fourth of July fireworks mishap at a Long Island home that also injured three others, including a child. The incident happened at a Port Jefferson Station home on Foxrun Court at around 10 p.m. Thursday, July 4. Suffolk County Police said a large crowd was gathered to watch a residential fireworks display when one firework went astray, severing the finger of a 30-year-old Selden man. Police on Long Island are asking the public for help identifying a woman who allegedly damaged a large vase in the yard of a home. The incident occurred in Mount Sinai on Tuesday, May 21 on Mount Sinai-Coram Road.
