A Long Island restaurateur who shot and killed his girlfriend inside her penthouse apartment over an impending breakup is facing decades behind bars. Mark Small, 57, of Elmont, was sentenced to 25 years to life in prison in Nassau County Court on Thursday, Dec. 12, after being convicted of murdering 39-year-old Marivel Estevez. Prosecutors said Small entered Estevez’s penthouse apartment at the Allure Mineola apartment complex on Old Country Road sometime overnight on July 28, 2022. Prosecutors filed murder charges against a man accused of stabbing his mother-in-law to death as she left a Long Island restaurant. Erick Corado-Gonzales, age 27, of Glen Cove, was indicted on second-degree murder and related charges in Nassau County Court on Tuesday, Oct. 22, in the death of Ana Ruth Espinoza. A Connecticut man has been sentenced to decades in prison for a violent attack and kidnapping of his his estranged wife on Long Island.
