A Long Island man will spend decades in prison for stabbing a father of four to death before turning the knife on the victim’s wife. Candelario Cordova, age 54, of Huntington Station, was sentenced to 30 years behind bars in Suffolk County Court on Wednesday, July 24, for the murder of Roque Cisneros. Emergency crews in Huntington Station were called on Feb. 16, 2023, with reports of an altercation outside a home near Oakwood Road. 2 Men Dead In Separate Drownings At Long Island Homes
Two men have died following separate drowning incidents in residential swimming pools on Long Island. The first incident happened at an East Northport home on Ketay Drive South shortly before 5 p.m. Thursday, July 4. Suffolk County Police said John Vormbaum, age 79, was found unresponsive in a pool. An officer performed CPR, but Vormbaum was pronounced dead at Huntington Hospital. The man behind a high-speed drunk driving crash that killed a husband and wife has received his sentence, authorities announced. On Monday, June 17, 33-year-old Sotirios Spanos was sentenced to seven to 21 years behind bars for the wrong-way crash that killed Ismenia and Odalis Urena, the Nassau County District Attorney announced. Long Island Man Dies Over Week After Being Pulled Unresponsive From Pool
A Long Island man has died over a week after he was pulled unresponsive from a swimming pool. Emergency crews were called at around 2 p.m. Sunday, May 19, after a 45-year-old man was found unresponsive in a residential pool in the hamlet of West Hills, on West Hills Road.
