Bicyclist Seriously Injured In Long Island Crash With Pickup Truck: Police A 73-year-old bicyclist was hospitalized with serious injuries after being struck by a pickup truck in East Patchogue, Suffolk County police announced on Saturday, Jan. 18. Gary Green, of Bellport, was riding on Montauk Highway near County Road 101 when a westbound 2013 Ford pickup truck driven by 68-year-old Norman Kurrass, of East Patchogue, hit him at 5:14 p.m., detectives said. Green was rushed to Long Island Community Hospital in Patchogue for treatment of his injuries. Kurrass was not injured in the crash, according to police. 44-Year-Old Killed After Being Struck By Car While Working On Pickup Truck On Long Island Road A man who was working on a pickup truck on a Long Island roadway was killed after being struck by a car. It happened around 4:40 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22, in Blue Point. A 54-year-old East Patchogue woman was driving a 2009 Hyundai Elantra southbound on Kennedy Avenue near Pine Street when the vehicle struck a man working on a 2006 Dodge Ram parked on the northbound side of the road. The man, Oscar Lopez-Machado, age 44, of Centereach, was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner.  The driver of…
