A man has been apprehended after police say he forcibly touched a teenager and then attacked responding officers at a mall on Long Island. At around 4:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25, Police responded to a disturbance at Broadway Mall in Hicksville after receiving reports of an intoxicated male being aggressive towards the public. Upon arrival, officers approached Allan Nunez, age 30, of Bayville, who began attacking them, according to Nassau County Police. Shotgun-Toting 11-Year-Old Lands Bayville Man In Handcuffs, Police Say
A Long Island man is facing criminal charges after an 11-year-old boy was seen carrying a shotgun outside his home, police said. The incident happened in Bayville, at a residence on 7th Street, at around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3. Nassau County Police said a 13-year-old boy was riding his bicycle when an 11-year-old boy carrying a shotgun came outside and told the teen to get away from his house. Swimming Discouraged At 14 Long Island Beaches Over Bacteria Concerns
You’ll want to think twice about taking a dip in these Long Island beaches. The Nassau County Department of Health issued an advisory Thursday, July 18, against swimming at 14 beaches known to be impacted by stormwater runoff. Health officials said recent heavy rainfall in the region may have led to elevated bacteria levels that exceed the New York State standards for bathing water quality.
