Fatal Crash: 58-Year-Old ID'd As Victim On Long Island Roadway One person was killed in a midday crash on a busy Long Island roadway. It happened around 11:45 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12 in Riverhead. A 2015 Nissan Sentra owned by Riverhead Town Taxi had been traveling eastbound on Route 58, just east of Northville Turnpike.  After passing through the intersection, the vehicle struck a pedestrian who was attempting to cross the roadway from the north side to the south side. Fatal Overnight Crash: 37-Year-Old Woman ID'd As Victim On Long Island A woman was killed after being struck by an SUV on a Long Island roadway overnight. The incident happened just before 9 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 22, in Riverhead, on eastbound Old Country Road, near the Gulf Gas Station and the Residence Inn Hotel. Upon arrival of the Riverhead Police Department Patrol Division, it was determined that a 2009 Nissan Rogue, operated by a 46-year-old woman, struck two pedestrians.  One of the pedestrians was a woman identified as Denise Wack, 37 years old. The incident happened in Hempstead, in the eastbound lanes near exit 13, at around 5:45 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 21. New York State Police said someone called 911 reporting that a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle. The victim, a Black woman around 30 years old, was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. Man Killed After Being Struck By SUV In North Bellmore A person was killed after being struck by an SUV on a busy Lon Island roadway. It happened around 2:15 p.m. Monday, Aug. 12, in North Bellmore. A 71-year-old man was crossing Newbridge Road eastbound in the vicinity of Frisch Place when he was struck by a 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee being operated by a 65-year-old man heading northbound, Nassau County Police said.  As a result of the collision, the pedestrian suffered severe head trauma and was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead by a hospital physician.  His identity has not yet been released. …

54-Year-Old Struck, Killed By SUV In Brentwood Police are investigating a fatal overnight crash on a Long Island roadway. It happened around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 17, in Brentwood. A 54-year-old man was crossing 5th Avenue at Kirk Road when he was struck by a northbound 1998 Nissan Pathfinder, according to Suffolk County Police.
