Man Admits To Double-Fatal Shooting At Long Island Residence
A Long Island man is facing decades in prison after admitting to fatally shooting two people inside a home.
Brian Cordovano, age 50, of Ronkonkoma and formerly of Bay Shore, was arrested following a traffic stop in Smithtown, on Columbus Avenue, just before noontime on Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2023.
On Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at around 10:45 p.m. in Selden at 55 Hollywood Ave., Ian Saalfield, age 45, of Lake Grove, who had been reported missing by his wife nearly two weeks earlier, and the homeowner, Robert Julian, age 58, were found shot to death, Suffolk County Police said.

23-Year-Old Hit, Killed By Lirr Train
A 23-year-old Long Island man was killed after he was struck by a Long Island Railroad train.
According to David Steckel with the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, Christopher Reitzel, of Medford, was hit by LIRR Train 64 at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 10, west of the Sayville Train station when he was on the tracks without authorization.
EMS transported Reitzel to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore, where he was pronounced dead, MTA said.
Following the incident, LIRR said the Montauk Branch service was suspended between Oakdale and Sayville until 12:20 p.m.

IDs Released Of 4 Killed, Including Off-Duty Nypd Cop, 9 Injured In Alleged DWI Crash At Store
The identities have been released of four people killed, including a police officer, and nine injured after an allegedly drunk driver crashed an SUV into a shop at a New York strip mall.
The incident happened on Long Island around 4:30 p.m. Friday, June 28, in the hamlet of Deer Park.
According to Suffolk County Police, the driver, Steven Schwally, age 64, of Dix Hills, was driving a 2020 Chevy Traverse southbound at a high rate of speed through the parking lot in front of 421 Commack Road.

Update: Missing Long Island Man Found After Police Issue Silver Alert

A Long Island man has been found one day after relatives reported him missing.
Robert Lynch, age 94, of West Islip, had last been seen at around 1:10 p.m. Tuesday, June 4, in Bay Shore on Pine Aire Drive after leaving for a Costco outing.
In an update Wednesday, June 5, Suffolk County Police said Lynch was located and was unharmed. No other details were given.
