Seen Her? 17-Year-Old Girl From Long Island Missing Nearly Month Authorities are asking for help in locating a missing teenager from Long Island. Kayla Worilds, age 17, of Bay Shore, was last seen on Sept. 18, according to Suffolk County Police. She was previously reported missing in January. Worilds is 5-foot-6 and 150 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. Police said she may be in Brooklyn or Queens. Box Cutter-Wielding Man Breaks Into Long Island Home, Threatens Resident, Police Say A suspect was arrested days after a home break-in on Long Island. The incident happened in Speonk, at around 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, according to Southampton Town Police. Investigators said a resident called 911 saying a man known to them had illegally entered their home and threatened them with a box cutter. By the time officers arrived, the suspect had fled. Nobody was injured in the ordeal. On Saturday, Oct. 12, police arrested 42-year-old Bernard Colletti on suspicion of burglary and menacing. Colletti was arraigned the following morning.

Weeks Of Southern State Parkway Closures Planned Weeks of scheduled closures on Southern State Parkway could spell delays for drivers. In Babylon, the westbound Southern State Parkway will be closed between exit 39 and exit 32 weeknights from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m., beginning Monday, Oct. 14. The closures will last approximately five weeks to facilitate a pavement resurfacing project, the New York State Department of Transportation said. The incident happened in Bohemia on Lincoln Avenue, at around 1:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 28. Suffolk County Sheriff’s officials said the deputy stopped 37-year-old Christopher Brown, of Holbrook, and informed him he was wanted on an arrest warrant out of Amityville.
