For the first time in a decade, health officials in New York confirmed a human case of a rare but serious mosquito-borne disease. In Ulster County, the New York State Department of Health confirmed that a resident was hospitalized after testing positive for eastern equine encephalitis virus (EEE), the agency announced Friday, Sept. 20.
