After considering a number of key areas, the following schools were ranked in the website’s 2025 “Best Schools in Nassau County” report: No. 1 - H. B. Phone Scammer Swindles $32K From Roslyn Heights Woman, Police Say
An alleged phone scammer convinced a Long Island woman to fork over tens of thousands of dollars, police said. Nassau County Police said the 65-year-old Roslyn Heights woman contacted the agency on Wednesday, Oct. 16, saying she had been the victim of a scam. She told investigators that she received a call from “Amazon” regarding her iPad and was directed to speak with a purported agent at the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) to report fraud. Someone’s in for a massive payday. A winning Powerball ticket worth $50,000 was purchased at a Long Island convenience store, New York Lottery announced. The third prize-winning ticket was sold at Roslyn Heights, at the Dakar Mart located at 1 Powerhouse Road, for the drawing held Monday, Oct. 7.
