Teen Drowns At Popular Swimming Hole In Hudson Valley Days Before 15th Birthday
A 14-year-old boy drowned at a popular Ulster County swimming hole just days before his birthday. Troopers responded to Rondout Creek's Split Rock area off State Route 55 in the town of Wawarsing just before 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 16, following reports of a possible drowning. A preliminary investigation found that the victim — identified as Charief Spratley — had been swimming with friends when he went under and never resurfaced, according to New York State Police. Hudson Valley Woman Dies In Single-Vehicle Crash Due To Adverse Road Conditions: Police
A 56-year-old Hudson Valley woman lost her life in a single-vehicle crash due to adverse road conditions, according to New York State Police. Ulster County resident Tammy Hyatt of Ellenville died around 11 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 18, on Otens Road in Wawarsing. Trooper Jennifer Alvarez said preliminary investigations revealed that a 2023 Chevrolet Tahoe driven by Hyatt was traveling eastbound when it veered off the roadway and struck a tree. Ulster County Man Used Large Piece Of Wood In Violent Altercation: Police
A Hudson Valley man is behind bars for allegedly using a large piece of wood (2x4) during a violent fight that seriously injured a 34-year-old man. The incident occurred around 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 8, at the victim's home on Route 209 in Wawarsing, said Trooper Jennifer Alvarez of the New York State Police. According to Alvarez, During the altercation, Eudomar Demacedo, age 31, of Ellenville, struck the victim multiple times with a 2x4. Man Busted In Broom Handle Attack During Hudson Valley Incident
A man was charged with allegedly assaulting a woman with a broom handle and his fist, causing a head injury, during a domestic dispute in the region. Ulster County resident Harry J. Krom, age 42, of Kerhonkson, was arrested on Wednesday, Sept. 25, on Two Path Road in Wawarsing. An investigation alleges that Krom repeatedly struck a 45-year-old woman with a broom handle and closed fist.
