Vehicle Goes Up In Flames Near Town Hall In Dutchess County (Developing) A vehicle fire near a Dutchess County town hall has prompted officials to warn drivers to stay away from the area. The blaze happened on Wednesday morning, April 23, on Charles Colman Boulevard near the Pawling Town Hall, town officials announced around 8:10 a.m.  The Pawling Fire Department has since responded to the scene. Car Fire Spreads To House In Beacon A vehicle fire was soon extinguished by firefighters in Dutchess County, but not before it spread to a nearby residence.  The incident happened on Tuesday, Jan. 28 at around 1:30 p.m., when a car caught on fire at a Beacon home on Rector Street, according to the Beacon Fire Department.  Arriving fire crews soon knocked out the flames and searched the home, finding no one inside.  Crews then overhauled the home and confirmed the blaze had not stretched further into the residence.  However, the first floor was damaged by the flames. Smouldering Van Impacts Traffic On I-84 At Dutchess, Putnam Line A van blaze slowed traffic on Interstate 84 at the border of Putnam and Dutchess counties, firefighters said. The fire happened on Friday, Jan. 24 just before 12:45 p.m., when a van caught on fire on Interstate 84 in Kent, according to the Lake Carmel Fire Department. Crews were able to put out the blaze after around 30 minutes.  The incident caused traffic delays on the interstate during the response.

Blaze Destroys Vehicle In I-84 In Kent A fire completely consumed a vehicle on Interstate 84 in the Hudson Valley.  The blaze happened in Putnam County on Wednesday, Jan. 22 at around 2:15 p.m., when a vehicle caught on fire on I-84 in Kent, according to the Lake Carmel Fire Department. Fire crews rushed to the scene and were able to put the flames out.  No injuries were reported and the incident was safely brought under control, firefighters said.  "Remember to keep an eye on your vehicle’s condition to help prevent incidents like this," the department said in a social media post on Thursday, Jan. 23.

Lt. Daniel Schoales of the Stony Point Police said Mahamadou Sissoko, of the Bronx, was charged on Thursday, Jan. 8, for the crimes committed on Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2024, in Tompkins Cove. Car Catches On Fire On Taconic Parkway An early morning vehicle blaze sent up plenty of smoke on a busy parkway in Northern Westchester.  The fire began on Tuesday, Nov. 12 around 6 a.m. on the southbound Taconic State Parkway in Briarcliff Manor, where a vehicle went up in flames, according to the Hawthorne Fire Department, which helped fight the blaze.  Arriving firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the fire in the parkway's right shoulder.  No injuries were reported.

Car Engulfed In Flames On Taconic Parkway A vehicle fire prompted an early morning response on the Taconic State Parkway. The blaze happened on Saturday, Oct. 19 around 8:30 a.m. in Northern Westchester, when an SUV caught on fire on the southbound side in Hawthorne. Arriving fire crews soon found the vehicle consumed by flames and quickly hosed it down, putting the blaze out completely.  The response took around an hour and sent plumes of smoke up into the air on the parkway, as seen in images of the fire released on the Hawthorne Fire Department's social media page.  No injuries were reported.
