According to the MTA, the close call happened near the Beacon station on Thursday, Sept. 18, when a Metro-North engineer spotted the pup roaming the tracks.  Thanks to a quick response from the train crew, assistance from MTA Police, and “a little detective work” from the Operations Control Center, the dog was safely removed from danger, MTA officials said.  The team then found the dog’s owner and reunited them. Car Struck By Train At NY Railroad Crossing Emergency crews responded to a Rockland County railroad crossing on Tuesday morning, July 22, after a car was hit by a train.  The incident happened around 9:44 a.m. on Tuesday at 400 Oritani Dr. in Blauvelt, the Blauvelt Volunteer Fire Company Inc. said.  Firefighters arrived along with the Orangetown Police Department and South Orangetown Ambulance Corps. Man Parks SUV In Train's Path In Hudson Valley, Runs Away, Cops Say Police in New York say a Connecticut man intentionally parked his Chevy Equinox on train tracks in the path of a CSX train and then ran away only to be caught. The Hudson Valley incident occurred in Ulster County around 2 p.m., Tuesday, May 28, south of the Esopus Avenue railroad crossing in the town of Espous. According to Capt.
