CVS Launching Pharmacy-Only Stores Amid Industry Changes: What To Know
CVS is opening smaller, pharmacy-only stores nationwide as it tries to change how people access medications and in-person care. The Rhode Island-based company is planning to open nearly 20 of the new locations in 2026, according to a news release on Monday, March 30. The announcement also included the unveiling of a pharmacy-only store in Chicago. Texas AG Sues NY County Clerk Over Abortion Pill Case, New York Refuses To Back Down
A fiery legal showdown between Texas and New York is escalating. Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton filed a legal petition against Acting Ulster County Clerk Taylor Bruck on Monday, July 28, for blocking the Lone Star State’s efforts to collect a $100,000 penalty from a New Paltz doctor. Bruck refused to enforce a judgment against Dr. Margaret Carpenter after Paxton secured the six-figure penalty and permanent injunction against Carpenter for sending abortion-inducing drugs to a Texas resident. Carpenter, who co-founded the Abortion Coalition for Telemedicine, was sued by Paxton in December…

'You Are Not To Cooperate': Hochul Bars Cops From Arresting Hudson Valley Dr. In Abortion Case
New York Gov. Kathy Hochul is doubling down on her refusal to extradite a Hudson Valley doctor charged with violating Louisiana’s abortion laws. In a video statement Thursday, Feb. 13, Hochul said she would not be signing an extradition order for Ulster County-based Dr. Margaret Carpenter that was sent by Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry hours earlier, citing New York’s so-called “shield laws.” Carpenter, a family physician based in New Paltz, was indicted last month by a Louisiana grand jury alongside her medical practice, Nightingale Medical, and a third individual, as Daily Voice reported. The…
