Bear Mountain State Park, one of the Hudson Valley’s most iconic outdoor destinations, is about to undergo a $25 million rehabilitation project. New York Gov. 9 Toddlers Drown, Sparking Recall Of 5 Million Backyard Pools
Millions of backyard pools sold nationwide are being recalled after nine toddlers drowned in them, officials said. The recall affects 48-inch and taller above-ground pools made by Bestway, Intex, and Polygroup, the Consumer Product Safety Commission announced on Monday, July 21. About five million of the pools have been sold in the US since 2002, including some currently available online and in stores. Cops ID Man, 25, Pulled From Long Island Pool After Party
A 25-year-old man died after being pulled unresponsive from a backyard swimming pool after a party at a home on Long Island Saturday, July 19, authorities said. A homeowner on Bloomington Street in Medford found Sleigan Laroc's body in the water at approximately 9:35 p.m., Suffolk County police said. The homeowner pulled the Laroc's body from the water and began performing CPR. Officers from the Sixth Precinct arrived shortly after and took over life-saving efforts. A car ended up in an indoor swimming pool after crashing into a Westchester fitness center. The crash happened on Friday, March 7, at around 12:30 p.m., when a vehicle crashed into Club Fit at 584 North State Rd.
