A New York police department’s bid to tap into residents’ security cameras is drawing a chilly reception online. The Saratoga Springs Police Department on Monday, Aug. 18, asked residents and businesses to share live security camera feeds as part of its new “Community Connect” program. A man armed with a knife tried breaking into a Hudson Valley home before attempting to stab residents inside, police said. Emergency crews in Ulster County responded to an Ellenville residence on Mill Street for an armed home invasion at around 5:45 a.m Tuesday, July 22, according to Ellenville Police. Police Ramp-Up Patrols After Series Of Car Break-Ins In Hudson Valley
Police have ramped up patrols after a series of car break-ins in the Hudson Valley over the weekend. The incidents occurred in the Airmont area during the early morning hours of Saturday, Dec. 7, and Sunday, Dec. 8, said Det. Sgt. Michael Higgins with the Ramapo Police. Higgins said there had been seven victims and several other attempted larcenies from locked vehicles. "The majority of the victims had left their vehicles unlocked," Higgins said.
