School Bus Fire Breaks Out Outside High School In Hudson Valley
A school bus caught fire Wednesday morning, Jan. 21, outside a Rockland County high school, but all students made it off safely before the flames spread, fire officials said.
Crews were dispatched just after 7 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 21, for a reported school bus fire in front of North Rockland High School in Thiells, the Thiells Fire Department said.
When firefighters arrived, they found an active fire involving the bus, according to the department.

A school bus carrying 31 people, including children, overturned on the Garden State Parkway in Montvale Monday night, March 10, shutting down all lanes, officials said.
New Jersey State Police responded to the crash at 7:39 p.m. near milepost 170.5 in Montvale, according to New Jersey State Police Sgt. Charles Marchan. A preliminary investigation found that the bus, driven by a 44-year-old Lakewood man, veered off the right side of the roadway and overturned, authorities said.
Montvale Mayor Mike Ghassali confirmed the bus was headed to New York when it crashed.

The 68-year-old driver of a bus that hit and killed a kindergartner and his mother while they were walking to a school in Westchester will not face criminal charges, according to reports.
In a press conference on Friday, Aug. 30, police said the bus driver involved in the crash, which happened on Thursday, June 20, and caused the death of Mamaroneck residents Michael Donovan Volpe, age 6, and his mother, 43-year-old Molly Murphy Donovan, would not be criminally charged, according to a report by ABC7.
